Obituary – Dale L. Potter Jr.

Master Sergeant Dale L Potter, Jr USAF, Retired

Dale was 52 years old, an Air Force Veteran of 22 years, went to be with his Savior on April 12, 2019 after a 3-year battle with ALS. Research has shown that military veterans are twice as prone to ALS as non-vets.

He is survived by his children; Ashlyn Noel Potter and Mitchell Edward Harrow Potter; his parents Judy Ann Jacobi, Edward and Carolyn Harrow; his sisters Misty Ballesteros, Lorry and Jerry Lucero, brother Lance Jacobi; and the mother of his children, Julie Harrow, as well as 19 nieces and nephews.

Dale was born in Fort Polk, Louisiana on December 7, 1966 to Judy Ann Jacobi. He grew up in Del Cerro, New Mexico and graduated from Gadsden High School. Dale retired from the Air Force while stationed at Davis Monthan AFB, as the 355th Services Squadron, First Sergeant. Following the attack on September 11th Dale deployed to the Middle East in support of Operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom. Retiring in 2009 Dale found his true earthly home in Tucson Arizona with his family and friends. He then devoted his life to assisting veterans obtain their due benefits as a counselor with the Arizona State Veterans Administration until 2018 two years after he was diagnosed with ALS.

Dale was a devoted father and a Christian man who touched the lives of all who had the honor of meeting him. Like his favorite song, “now surrounded by HIS glory”, Dale no longer needs to “IMAGINE” what it will be like “When he walks by the side of Jesus”

Viewing and family visit on Thursday, April 25 5-9 p.m. at East Lawn Palms Mortuary.

As Dale wished we will celebrate his life at a “fiesta” on Friday, April 26th 5:30-8:30 at Pantano Christian Church, casual attire.
