April 25, 2019 Special Meeting Minutes

A special meeting of the Belle Plaine Community School District Board of Education was held on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. in the board room at Longfellow Elementary, Belle Plaine.

Members Present: Marie Stratford, Rima Johnson, Val Coffman

Members Absent: Mike Bachelder, Brad Cook

Administration Present: Chad Straight

Administration Absent: Heather Coover, Todd Werner              

Visitors Present: None

 Press Representative: None

 The meeting was called to order by President Stratford at 4:30 p.m.

AGENDA

Motion Johnson, second Coffman to approve the agenda.  All voted, “aye.” Motion carried.

 DELEGATIONS

There were no delegations.

BUSINESS ITEMS

1. Approval of the Employment of Personnel- Superintendent Straight recommended the board approve a contract for Matthew Moffitt for the 2019-2020 school year as a secondary science teacher.   Superintendent Straight stated Moffitt is certified to teach Chemistry and Physics.  Straight also recommended the board to approve the allowance of Moffitt’s years of experience, and to grant him 15 sick days in his contract.  There was motion by Johnson, second by Coffman to approve the contract for Matthew Moffit as secondary science teacher for the 2019-2020 year to include his years of experience and 15 sick days.  All voted, “aye.” Motion carried. 

There was motion by Coffman, second by Johnson to adjourn the meeting.  All voted, “aye.” Motion carried.
