The Mansfield Charitable Foundation would like to announce the following 2019 grants made to Belle Plaine area organizations:

• City of Belle Plaine – $30,668.49 airport improvement cost sharing
• Belle Plaine Comm School – $100,000.00 to fund Project Lead the Way
• BP Community School Foundation – $5,000.00 annual scholarship
• BP Community School Foundation – $4,500.00 Athena Art program
• Benton Co Volunteers – $2,000.00 general support
• Benton Comm School Foundation – $5,000.00 annual scholarship
• Blairstown Ambulance – $10,000.00 ambulance fund
• City of Belle Plaine – $25,000.00 restrooms at baseball complex
• Belle Plaine Ambulance Service – $25,000.00 new ambulance

Wesley Mansfield was a Boone County Nebraska native that became a successful businessman in Tama and Belle Plaine Iowa. The Foundation was created in 1984, and mainly funded from the estates of Wes and his wife Irene in the late 1980’s. The foundation tries to make a difference in the communities where their wealth was created.
