CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Sept. 23, 2019)-Kirkwood Community College is hosting its first annual Kirkwood Horse Spectacular at the Iowa Equestrian Center on Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event is open to the public.

The Horse Spectacular is designed to appeal to experienced horse enthusiasts and beginners alike. Attendees will be able to participate in various activities such as horse and pony rides, horse-themed activities, and the chance to meet and groom a Clydesdale.
According to Liz Lindner, Manager of Equine Events and Operations at the Iowa Equestrian Center, the Kirkwood Horse Spectacular is a unique opportunity for all horse lovers.
“Most people don’t have access to horses on a daily basis,” said Lindner. “The Horse Spectacular is an opportunity for hands on learning and to interact with these amazing animals. My hope is for families to leave this event with lasting memories and inspiration to pursue their curiosities about horses.”
In addition to the activities the event will also showcase many partner organizations of the Iowa Equestrian Center. Attendees will be able to talk to local experts about resources available to them, should they pursue further involvement with horses.
“This is a great chance for people of all ages to have fun while learning about horses,” said Lindner. “There will be something for everyone.”
