BCVP announces holiday programs

Benton County Volunteer Program

The holiday season is soon approaching and the Benton County Volunteer Program will have two programs available to help those in need.

PROGRAM 1 – THANKSGIVING FOOD BASKETS

BCVP will be providing Thanksgiving food baskets for families with school-age children living in the Benton Community or Belle Plaine School Districts. Applications have been sent home with all elementary students through these school districts.

Applications are due by October 23. Baskets will be available for pick up at the Belle Plaine Community Center on Saturday, November 16 between 10 am and noon.

PROGRAM 2 – TREE OF SHARING

The Benton County Volunteer Program Tree of Sharing serves the Belle Plaine School District and is an opportunity to assist families in need with articles of clothing and a food basket. If your family is in need this holiday season, please fill out an application form. Forms will be available early November, from Longfellow Elementary School, Belle Plaine or the BCVP office located in the Belle Plaine Community Center. Applications are due by November 25, 2019. You may also refer another family with needs by completing the application form and signing it. Gifts and food baskets may be picked up at the Belle Plaine Community Center on Saturday, December 14 between 10 am and noon.
