BC board tours Atkins, talks with area mayors in work session

  1. Action #108 – Call to Order
    Motion by Thompson, second by Upah to open work session. Meeting opened at 5:00 p.m.
    MOTION CARRIED ALL MEMBERS PRESENT VOTING AYE
    Attendance: Directors Stepanek, Becker, Nolte, Upah, Werning, and Thompson,
    Absent: Director Ludeking
    Also In Attendance: Dr. Pam Ewell, Bruce Visser, Erin Janss, Jan Mattson, Heather Rinderknecht, and Todd Damon
    Session included:
     Toured Water Treatment Facility and discussed job opportunities for water treatment licensure.
     Discussed Master Planning Projects for the City Of Atkins.
     Discussed Zoning Committee Process and Function.
     Discussed Recreational Development and Parks.
     Benton County Development Group shared that a Grant Writer will be solicited for service.
     Benton County Development Group is looking to relocate in Benton County.
     Newhall reported condominium development and childcare services.
     Keystone shared that daycare is being provided by the Lutheran Church.
     Possible Solar Farm to be constructed west of Atkins.
     Atkins is repurposing soccer fields for use by metro football and community.
     Walking Trails have been popular in Atkins.
  2. Action #109 Motion to Adjourn work session
    Motion by Thompson, second by Upah to adjourn the work session.
    MOTION CARRIED ALL MEMBERS PRESENT VOTING AYE
