Belle Plaine topped No. 14 Grandview in the second round of Class 1A Regional softball play. Belle Plaine had six hits in the game. Alyssa Tegeler was 2 for 4. Kiley Alcott was 2 for 4. Jenna Fry and Alivia each had one RBI. Judy Campbell was 1 for 3 with one RBI. Abby Seeck was 1 for 3. The team had one walk and 14 strikeouts.

The team stole four bases, with steals from Tegeler, Fry, Campbell and Kady Parizek. Belle Plaine had two errors.

Winning pitcher Breanna Cook threw for seven innings, allowed seven hits, two runs (one earned), walked two and struck out six.

Belle Plaine plays No. 10 Lynnville-Sully this Friday, July 9, at Lynnville.
