Cynthia Louise Amsden

Cynthia Louise Amsden, 64, of Cloquet, Minnesota, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on May 17 at St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.

Cindy was born on October 13, 1958 to Charles and Nancy Eichhorn in San Diego, CA. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in Belle Plaine, IA. Following graduation she continued to work hard. She moved to Cloquet, Minnesota in 1992. In Cloquet she worked at The Jack for many years, where she formed many great friendships and was affectionately known as “bar momma” to many patrons. She loved all things Betty Boop, Camping, 4-Wheeling, Fishing as well as canning and making salsa.

Cindy is survived by her partner of 22 years, Joseph Thompson; her children, Jed (Liz) Eichhorn of Marion, IA, Trixy (Rob) Petsche of Tennessee, Jeremy Amsden of Texas; her step children, Candace (Todd) Victrelli of Brookston, MN, Melanie (Wade) McDowell of Cloquet, MN, Donna (Barry) Giersdorf-Thompson of Moose Lake, MN; her siblings David (Denise) Eichhorn of Milo, IA, Chuck (Renee) Eichhorn of Virginia, Jon (Monica) Eichhorn, Belle Plaine, IA, Sally Eichhorn Cedar, Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Charlee and Jack Eichhorn, Sophia, Ellis, Adler and Avery Petsche, Charlsie Thompson, Owen and Oliver McDowell, Grace, Chet and Joninah Giersdorf-Thompson; great grandson Malachi; and her beloved dogs, Duggan and Rocky.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Nancy Eichhorn, grandson Noah Giersdorf-Thompson, and nephew Seth Hadenfeldt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 10th from 2-6 pm at The Jack in Cloquet, Minnesota. The family would like to extend their thanks to the medical team at St. Luke’s hospital and to her Double Trouble Sister, Jackie Micke, who transported and supported her at many appointments.
