EV History Center program on birds

On the Wing with Dean Hester – Birdwatching around the USA

The EV History Center is pleased to bring a 2012 English Valleys graduate to the stage on Sunday, July 23, at 2 p.m. In his own words, this is what he is planning for us:
“My name is Dean Hester, a North English native, and long-time nature lover. During my college years at the University of Iowa, I became interested in wildlife photography and birdwatching.
“Both of these hobbies led me to travel to new and exciting places to see more birds and animals. These hobbies quickly turned into serious obsessions, and now I try to see new species everywhere I go, both close to home and to new places.
“In this program, I plan on giving a brief tour of some of the most bio-diverse and interesting places I’ve been to in the USA and beyond, especially for wildlife and birdwatching.
“I will also talk about how seeing all these animals can be used for citizen science projects and how to become a better naturalist and photographer.
“There will be lots of pictures!”
The EV History Center is located at 108 N. Main Street in North English, and all are invited to attend this event at no charge. Donations are accepted.
