Bloomsbury Farm announces Four Oaks corn maze design to celebrate 50 years of Four Oaks

Many area officials were the ribbon cutting for the Bloomsbury Farm corn maze announcement, which will honor 50 years of Four Oaks.

ATKINS – Bloomsbury Farm announced the design this year will honor the 50th anniversary of Four Oaks on Friday, July 14, 2023, outside of Atkins.

Samantha Petersen, Bloomsbury Farm, told those gathered at the maze, “We’ve had a wonderful relationship with Four Oaks over the years. We couldn’t be more excited or proud to celebrate their 50th anniversary with our corn maze design this year. Nothing brings my family more joy than sharing this beautiful place with the community, building connections and building local relationships, and supporting causes that are bigger than ourselves.”

Mary Beth O’Neill of Four Oaks said Bloomsbury Farm has been a strong partner for many years. From 2011 to 2019, they had Cuisine in the Corn and raised over $136,000 through this. O’Neill said, “We’re thrilled to be back at Bloomsbury Farm.”

She added that through a grant from the Chelsey’s Dream Foundation, they are going to sponsor over 200 foster families to participate in the corn maze event at the end of September. They help support the adoption process for families across Iowa.

Chuck Bildstein of Chelsey’s Dream said, “We are very proud to be a sponsor of this kind of event with Four Oaks. Nine years ago — in about a month – was when we lost our dear Chelsey. Her last dream at that time, because she was looking into adoption, was to help families with the cost of adoption.”

She has helped 119 babies in nine years. “We are hoping to grow that through this event,” he said.

Officials and other guests enjoyed a hay rack ride at Bloomsbury Farm, as part of their announcement of the corn maze design, which this year honors Four Oaks.
