City of Newhall
City Council Regular Meeting
Wednesday, November 29, 2023 – 6:00 PM

Mayor Boddicker opened the regular meeting at 6:00 PM.
Roll Call: Council Present: Campbell, Cross, Wendel, Rinderknecht, Seeck
Approval of the Agenda: Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Campbell approving the agenda, all yes, motion carried
Department Reports
Public Works: Ditch on 4th Street is done until spring when a few cosmetic things remain; Christmas lights are almost all up; first plowing went well; stand for UV lights was built; 2 hydrants will be added to FY24 budget conversations.
City Clerk: Central Lutheran School would like the council to approve their installation of a marque on their property, Keri will add it to the next agenda; City Hall will be closed Friday, December 1st and Monday, December 4th; City Annual Exam will begin on the 5th of December.
Fire: Grant process has started for air packs – the grant is for $143,000, city portion will be approximately $7,000.
Parks: Rec Board will meet this Sunday, League will be meeting January 29th.
Zoning: 3 permits were processed over this past 3 weeks; 2 fences and a shed.
Library: Jo Reick is looking to donate gingerbread houses for a program over the holidays; Christmas craft December 20th, possible additional crafts December 27-29.
Consent Agenda and Bill Consent: Motion by Rinderknecht, 2nd by Campbell to approve the minutes from November 13, 2023, and bills totaling $12,646.95, all present aye, motion carried.

Council Action
a. FY23 Annual Financial Report was given to council. Mayor Boddicker to sign, Keri will submit the signed copy to the State – Report is Due December 1st.
b. Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Cross approving Matthew Fish to the Volunteer Fire Department, all yes, motion carried. This brings the total number of firefighters to 21.
Adjournment: At 6:16 PM, Seeck moved to adjourn, Rinderknecht 2nd, all present aye motion carried.
