Janessa Blomme led Belle Plaine with 12 points. With five rebounds each were Blomme and Alyssa Steinback. Lacie Rethman had two steals. The team was 9 of 27 for field goals, 0 of 6 for three-pointers and 0 of 2 for free throws. They had 18 rebounds, three assists, four steals, and 21 turnovers. Montezuma was 21 of 55 for field goals, 12 of 37 for three-pointers and 4 of 6 for free throws. they had 33 rebounds, 19 assists, 11 steals, seven turnovers and 10 fouls.

Belle Plaine is scheduled to travel to Don Bosco on Thursday, Jan. 11, and to host No. 11 Lynnville-Sully on Friday, Jan. 12. The Jan. 9 game against HLV has been postpoined.

Sam DeMeulenaere had 19 points. Riley Simmons added 14 and Wyatt Kuch had 11. Jax Stamp had 10 rebounds. With three assists each were Wyatt Kuch and Stamp. Stamp also had four blocks.

Montezuma was 16 of 56 for field goals, 4 of 29 for three-pointers and 2 of 2 for free throws. They had 26 rebounds, five steals, two blocks, six turnovers and 17 fouls. They were led by Garrett Watts with 16 points.

The game against HLV was postponed on Tuesday, Jan. 9. They are scheduled to travel to to Don Bosco on Thursday, Jan. 11, and host No. 10 Lynnville-Sully on Friday, Jan. 9.
