What a difference a month can make in Iowa in January. From rain and temperatures in the 50s for Christmas, to reminding us what Winter can deliver.
A big thanks to Jared and Mike for working the extra hours to keep the streets and alleyways clear to keep people on the move. Thanks also to all the volunteers who are helping dig out around town.
It’s time for an overdue reminder to keep sidewalks clear after a storm to prevent people from having to walk on the already narrowed streets. Thanks to the many of you who are diligent about this.
The weather has also caused some disruptions with our trash collection. I think everyone can understand why a one-day delay this week has led to the cancellation of pickup until Friday the 19th. It helps that we have the new, larger containers to get through an extra week, but the City and EZ Trash appreciate your patience and understanding. As a reminder, you can always use the recycling trailer at the east end of town if you can’t make it until the next pickup.
Coming up, the Legion Sandwich Supper is being replaced by a Fish Fry for the next few months on the third Friday, so I’ll look forward to seeing you there on Friday the 19th.
