McKenna Kramer had 26 points with 8 of 19 shooting for three-pointers. Emma Townsley added 14 points and Piper Nelson had 12. Townsley also had 10 rebounds and seven assists. Aubrey Kelly had five steals. Nelson had two blocks.

McKenna Kramer had 23 points with 7 of 15 shooting for three-pointers. Emma Townsley added 16 points. Jessa DeMoss had 14 rebounds. Townsley had eight assists and eight steals. Kramer had two blocks.

Benton won its first-round tourney game on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, over South Tama. The team was 18 of 51 for field goals, 8 of 29 for three-pointers and 13 of 16 for free throws. They had 41 rebounds, 14 assists, 13 seals, five blocks, 14 turnovers and seven fouls. McKenna Kramer had 22 points with 6 of 12 shooting for field goals. Zoey Junge had six rebounds. Emma Townsley had four assists and four seals. Jessa DeMoss had two blocks.

Benton (16-6) hosts Williamsburg (14-8) on Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the Class 3A Region 8 tournament. The game starts at 7 p.m. The winner plays the winner of the Monticello (19-3) and PCM game (15-6) on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. at a site to be determined by the ranking of the remaining teams.

West Liberty was 21 of 41 for field goals, 7 of 18 for three-pointers and 4 of 9 for free throws. they had 22 rebounds, 13 assists, 17 steals, two blocks, 19 turnovers and nine fouls.

Ryan Spina led Benton with 11 points. With five rebounds each were Quincy Gilbert and Carson Nolan. Owen Tjelmeland had four assists. Spina had three steals.

South Tama was 15 of 37 for field goals, 6 of 14 for three-pointers and 8 of 12 for free throws. They had 29 rebounds, 10 assists, six steals, three blocks, 21 turnovers and eight fouls.

Owen Tjelmeland had 11 points for Benton. Carson Nolan had seven rebounds and five assists. Wyatt Rinderknecht had four steals.

The Bobcats travel to Center Point-Urbana on Tuesday, Feb. 13, and host Independence on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 7:15 p.m.
