Regular Meeting
Monday, March 11, 2024 – 6:00 PM

Mayor Boddicker opened the regular meeting at 6:00 PM.
Roll Call: Council Present: Seeck, Cross, Wendel, Messner, Rinderknecht (via telephone)
Approval of the Agenda: Motion by Seeck, 2nd Cross approving the agenda (adding e) all yes, motion carried.
Department Reports:
Public Works – West park slide steps are peeling, new slide will be sent; city alarms have had the phone numbers updated; sweeper is set up on mower; DNR inspection of water plant went well.
Mayor – HRGreen will attend the next meeting, city attorney was contacted regarding property that Newhall Feed wishes to purchase.
Fire – Air pack grant has been submitted.
Parks – Additional LL team is required because of numbers; more jerseys also may be needed; lip from infield to outfield needs work on both fields.
Consent Agenda and Bill Consent: Motion by Seeck, 2nd by Messner to approve the minutes from February 29, 2024, and bills totaling $6,709.21, all present aye, motion carried.
Benton County Solid Waste Garbage – Tipping fee 10/26 – 11/16 $1,302.26

Council Action:
a. Motion by Cross, 2nd by Seeck approving changes that EZ Trash is requesting (they will take over payments to the Benton County Landfill for gate fees and garbage day will be changing to
Wednesday effective April 3, 2024) to our current contract. Approval is pending a new signed agreement that also honors all items in our previous contract, all yes, motion carried.
b. Motion by Messner, 2nd by Rinderknecht, approving resolution 2024-004 changing “smoking’ in the employee handbook to read “tobacco use”, roll call vote Messner, Cross, Rinderknecht, Seeck yes, Wendel no, motion carried.
c. Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Seeck approving resolution 2024-005 changing cell phone information in employee handbook to state that the city maintenance workers will receive a monthly cell phone stipend of $75.00, roll call all yes, motion carried.
d. Motion by Seeck, 2nd by Cross approving resolution 2024-006 adding a maintenance supervisor job description to the employee handbook, roll call vote all yes, motion carried.
e. Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Cross, approving the following Newhall coaches and Rec Board Members, 2nd Little League Boys – Jacob Williams, Girls Machine Pitch – Stepanie Palmer, boys Machine Pitch – Deven Neve, all yes, motion carried.
Adjournment: At 6:30 PM, Seeck moved to adjourn, Messner 2nd, all present aye motion carried.
