Belle Plaine Council has April 24 special meeting

The Belle Plaine City Council met for a special council meeting on April 24, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. with Mayor Lyle Morrow presiding. Present: Judy Schlesselman, Garrett Landuyt, Mitch Malcolm, and Charmaine Wickwire. Also present: City Administrator Steve Beck and City Clerk Sandra Walton.

The pledge of allegiance was recited. Motion by Malcolm, seconded by Landuyt to approve the Consent Agenda. All voted aye, motion carried 4-0.

There were no resident comments.

At 6:31 p.m. Mayor Morrow opened the public hearing for the 2024-2025 Budget of the City of Belle Plaine, Iowa. No comments were received from the public.

At 6:34 p.m. the public hearing was closed.

Motion by Wickwire, seconded by Schlesselman to approve Resolution #24-04-07; a resolution to approve the City of Belle Plaine Budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. On roll call vote, all voted aye, motion carried 4-0.

Motion by Malcolm, seconded by Landuyt to approve Change Order #1 for the Franklin Park Restroom Project. On roll call vote, all voted aye, motion carried 4-0.

Motion by Landuyt, seconded by Wickwire to approve Change Order #2 for the Franklin Park Restroom Project. On roll call vote, all voted aye, motion carried 4-0.

Motion by Wickwire, seconded by Schlesselman to approve the setting of a public hearing for Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 6:30 pm in Council Chambers at the Belle Plaine City Hall for Amendment #2 to the current FY24 budget. On roll call vote, all voted aye, motion carried 4-0.

There were no resident comments.

Motion by Landuyt to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Malcolm. All voted aye, motion carried 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
