STATE OF IOWA: COUNTY OF IOWA May 3, 2024
The Iowa County Board of Supervisors met on May 3, 2024. Heitshusen, Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Heitshusen, Maas, Montross and Schumacher were present. Degen absent.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve the agenda. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Schumacher to approve minutes from April 26, 2024. All aye,
motion carried.
Chair Notes: The board approved handwritten claims paid with warrant numbers 30689, 30803, and 30804 and claims paid with warrant numbers 30690 – 30802. Manure Management Plan received from J and J Pork Facility #63843.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Schumacher to approve liquor licenses for Hops and Hotrods LLC, Tatertough Foundation, 3-Amana Colonies Outdoor Convention Facility, Ravens Nest Orchard and Winery. All aye, motion carried.
Montion by Maas, seconded by Montross to execute ICAP Member Proxy and 2024 Anniversary Rating Supplement. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Maas to take no action on Iowa County Transportation Full-time employee wage increase. All aye, motion carried.
Nick Amelon, County Engineer met with the board to discuss construction, road maintenance, engineer’s office, and truck bids.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Schumacher to approve Resolution #2024-05-03 as follows: Resolution 2024-05-03
RESOLVED that effective May 20, 2024, the appointment of Timothy W. Dille as Full-time
Assistant Iowa County Attorney is approved by this board. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Maas to adjourn at 9:38 a.m. All aye, motion carried.

The Iowa County Board of Supervisors met on May 10, 2024. Heitshusen, Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Degen, Heitshusen, Maas, Montross and Schumacher were present.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Schumacher to approve the agenda. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve minutes from May 3, 2024. Aye, Heitshusen, Maas, Montross and Schumacher. Degen, abstained, motion carried.
Chair Notes: The board approved handwritten claims paid with warrant numbers 30805 – 30807 and 30972 and payroll paid with warrant numbers 30808 – 30971.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Schumacher to appoint Jon Degen and Abigail Maas as Liaisons to Law Enforcement Contract Task Force. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve liquor licenses for Midwest Festivals, LLC. and Amana Colonies Outdoor Convention Facility. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Schumacher to approve and authorize Chairman to sign contingent on County Attorney’s review – FY25 Information Technology Services Agreement between Iowa County and Solutions, Inc. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Schumacher, seconded by Montross to approve FY25 Salary Certifications as presented. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve and authorize Chairman to sign FY25 Iowa County Secondary Road Union Contract as presented. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Degen, seconded by Montross to schedule FY25 Iowa County Proposed Budget Amendment #3 for Friday, June 7, 2024, at 9:45 a.m. All aye, motion carried.
Nick Amelon, County Engineer met with the board to discuss construction, road maintenance,
engineer’s office, and truck bids.
Amelon presented and discussed truck bids that were received. No board action was taken, but the consensus of majority of the board was to proceed with the quote of $135,000.00 for Peterbilt that was desired quality for price and expected to be delivered in a timely manner. Maas abstained from the conversation.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve Certificates of Adjustment for parcels 0833-0404-9, 0833-0440-9 and 0839-0301-9 per Iowa County Board of Review. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Degen to approve Asbestos Abatement Active Thermal Concepts quote of $5,670.00 for the removal of the exterior asbestos-containing caulk around
the windows. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Schumacher to adjourn at 9:59 a.m. All aye, motion carried.
