*A note about May 21st Good Reads gathering: We met in April at the library and had a blast talking about different books and authors that are available right now! It was so much fun to hear what others are reading and a great .me for conversation with others who love to read. Join us May 21st at 7 pm – bring your drink of choice.
New Books
We have received a lot of new adult books recently from some of our favorite authors such as: Baldacci, Patterson, McFadden, Maas, Petrie and Yarros.
And we also have received a number of children’s books such as: Bad Kitty, Sunny Makes a Splash, Adventures of the Bailey School Kids, Grumpy Monkey, Don’t Eat Bees, plus many more!
Kids Event – May 19th at 10 am – Summer Safety Grace Schmidt, Benton County Public Health
Director will be at the library to present a program for the kids on summer safety. As summer fast approaches, please join us for this opportunity.
A Safe Sitter Babysittng Certification Course is also available if a few young
people are interested.
This course is designed for 5th – 8th grade students. If you have a child who may be interested, please call or stop by the library for more information. 319-227-7487.
Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Program will begin June 15th with all kinds of activities for the kids to engage in such as: a reading challenge, caricature drawing, rock painting, creating a play and of course Water Play!
Activities will be held at both the library and the park. Information sheets will be out soon!
Book Sale
We have been weeding some materials from our collection and will be hosting a book sale the
first week of June. We will have adult and children’s books along with a few DVDs and audio books. No set cost per book – this will be a free will donation to the library.
