
Meet our new attorney: What you may need to know about managing your estate
The English Valleys History Center has a different kind of program coming this month. In their our ongoing pursuit of topics of value and interest to the community, they will be introducing the community’s new attorney, Grant Taylor. He will be speaking at 2:00 in the afternoon of Sunday, August 25th, informing people about several topics.
Grant received his B.A. Degree in Economics from San Diego State University in 2012. He received his Juris Doctorate with highest distinction in 2017 from the University of Iowa College of Law, and he was elected to the Order of the Coif, a prestigious award given for legal scholarship.
While in law school, Grant worked part-time at Bloethe, Elwood & Buchanan in Victor. He was hired full time upon passing the bar in 2017. Since 2021, Grant Taylor, Josh Kraushaar, and Thomas Buchanan have practiced law as partners at Bloethe, Elwood & Buchanan in Victor and at Elwood, Elwood & Buchanan in Williamsburg.
Elwood, Elwood & Buchanan currently operates in North English, with the office open on Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment.
Grant will be discussing various issues that people need to know as they manage their financial affairs. These are some of the ideas he will be explaining.

- Beneficiary / transfer on death provisions and when they conflict with a will.

He may also discuss ways to own land: - Tenants in common
- Joint with right of survivorship
- In a partnership or in a llc
- The typical rights of each co-owner, and how it’s different in each case.
