City of Newhall
Regular Meeting
Monday, August 26, 2024 – 6:00 PM

Mayor Boddicker opened the regular meeting at 6:00 PM.
Roll Call: Council Present: Cross, Rinderknecht, Wendel, Seeck, and Messner
Approval of the Agenda: Motion by Cross, 2nd Rinderknecht approving the agenda, all yes, motion carried.
Department Reports
Public Works – Switch replaced on generator; working on lines at CLS; spraying, oil for lagoon came in.
Council – Keri to reach out to company in Marion regarding a building inspector and invite to next meeting; Keri to find out when the fall clean up to bump outs will be; Keri will contact Gazette and Vinton Newspapers and inquire on highest publication purchases in Newhall.
Library – Summer reading program is over, foam cannon had 200 people attend, 60 at magic show, 55 for fire truck rides, 20 for Cicada program, 51 for all the craft days, 18 for book club.
Consent Agenda and Bill Consent: Motion by Seeck, 2nd by Rinderknecht to approve the minutes from August 12, 2024, and bills totaling $28,349.98, all yes, motion carried.

Council Action
a. Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Messner, roll call vote all yes, approving resolution 2024-015 Outstanding Debt Report, motion carried.
b. Motion by Seeck, 2nd by Cross, roll call all yes approving Road Use Tax report, motion carried.
c. The alley vacate person that requested action is moving, the Mayor shared since he is the person that requested the vacate, we will not be pursuing any change at this time.
d. Motion by Wendel, 2nd by Cross allowing the fire department to use the city trailer for Fire
Convention, all yes, motion carried.
e. The quote for repairing the lip on ball diamond was tabled.
