STATE OF IOWA: COUNTY OF IOWA September 20, 2024
The Iowa County Board of Supervisors met on September 20, 2024. Heitshusen, Chairman called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Degen, Heitshusen, Maas, and Montross were present.
Schumacher was absent.
Motion by Montross, seconded by Degen to approve the agenda. All aye, motion carried.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve minutes from September 13, 2024. All aye,
motion carried.
Open Forum: Jennifer Olson, Iowa County Veterans Affairs talked to the board about Suicide
Awareness and Battle Buddy Coins.
Chair Notes: The board approved handwritten claims paid with warrant numbers 33895, 34041
and 34042 and claims paid with warrant numbers 33896 – 34041. The board received the Manure Management Plan annual update from Kovar Farms #66956; Randy Von Ahsen #62567; Axmear Ag #62539.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to approve Quarterly Transfer of $328,750.00 – from
Rural Basic Fund to Secondary Roads Fund. All aye, motion carried.
Iowa County Landfill Commission – the board will request a resignation from Keith Stanerson to
allow the appointment of his replacement. Will be on next week’s agenda.
Sumner Township Clerk appointment, no action taken. Will be on next week’s agenda.
HR Policy Change – sick leave before and after holidays. The HR Attorney will be contacted to write the policy change and action will be taken once the policy change has been written.
Nick Amelon, County Engineer met with the board to discuss Construction, Road Maintenance,
projects, and Engineer’s office miscellaneous.
Adam Rabe, Iowa County Ambulance Director met with the board to present a department
update.
Recess at 9:42 a.m.
Chairman Heitshusen called the meeting back to order at 9:53 a.m.
Dylan Healey, Iowa County Building Maintenance met with the board to discuss monthly department update, clothing allowance, funding for proposed wiring project in courthouse
basement and recent insurance claim on several buildings. No action was taken on any of these items.
Mae Hingtgen, MH/DS East Central Region met with the board to discuss HHS Behavior Health
District.
Motion by Maas, seconded by Montross to adjourn at 10:45 a.m. All aye, motion carried.
