
COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
January 9, 2025

The regular meeting of the Keystone City Council was held Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Roll Call members present: Hennings, Janss, Monson and Stoner. Absent: Andresen. Also Present: Laura Hopper, Schroeder Public Library Director, Macy Hlas, Caden Erger, Sheila Hlas, Keystone Residents and Jamey Clemann, City Superintendent. Mayor Mark Andresen called the meeting to order.
Motion made by Janss, second by Hennings to approve the December 2024 minutes. Motion carried. All voted aye
Motion made by Monson, second by Janss, to approve the December treasurer report. Motion carried. All voted aye.
Laura Hopper, Library Director, gave a yearly review of activity at the Schroeder Public Library. The council praised Laura and her staff on all the hard work and activities and summer reading activities making the library a place all kids and adults should visit. We are very fortunate to have a great library in our city.
Macy Hlas, Caden Erger, Keystone Residents and Sheila Hlas, Belle Plaine resident attended the meeting in response to a notice of sheltering a Rottweiler at their residents which is against the Keystone City Ordinance. The residents have agreed to remove the dog from the Keystone city limits and respectively asked to consider changing the ordinance to eliminate the Rottweiler breed. The council appreciated the information and will take it under consideration.
Motion made by Monson, second by Stoner to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried. All voted aye.
