Carson Pickering led Benton with 27 points. Eli Patterson added 15 and Brody Timmerman had 11 points. Ryan Spina had eight rebounds. Timmerman had six assists. Cyrell Etzen had 19 points for South Tama.

Benton travels to Solon (15-5) on Monday, Feb. 24, for the Class 3A Region 3 tournament game, starting at 7 p.m. The winner goes on to play on Thursday, Feb. 27, at a site to be determined.
