CITY OF NORWAY
February 24th, 2025
Regular meeting of the Norway City Council was called to order by Mayor Loras Schulte at 5:30 PM.
Roll Call – Present: Christopher Van Horn, Darrell Schulte, Michael Schulte, & Shawn Rudie. Absent: Robby Miller.
Motion M. Schulte to accept the agenda, minutes, bills, & treasurer’s report presented. Seconded by C. Van Horn. Motion carried 4-0.
Benton County Sheriff’s Deputy Vic Rohrbach was present to address any questions from citizens and council members.
Council member Robby Miller joined the meeting at 5:36pm.
Jeff Furman was present to inquire with the council regarding the requirements to obtain a permit to construct a fence on his property.
Removed, damaged, & non-existent sidewalks were discussed. Snow removal from sidewalks was also discussed.
Excessive gravel in yards/driveways from street sweeping was discussed.
The location of the Norway Farmer’s Market was discussed.
Motion M. Schulte to accept and sign the SRF Engagement Letter (PD Bid Letting Long-Term) for the city’s bonding counsel, Dorsey & Whitney. Seconded by D. Schulte. Motion carried 5-0.
Motion C. Van Horn to set the Property Tax Levy Public Hearing date for March 24th, 2025. Seconded by D. Schulte. Motion carried 5-0.
A budget workshop was conducted.
Motion S. Rudie to adjourn at 7:25pm. Seconded by R. Miller. Motion carried 5-0.
