Benton County Supervisors have routine meeting

VINTON – It was routine business for the Benton County Board of Supervisors at their meeting on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, in Vinton.

The board approved final acceptance for the Racom radio contract and bill. The project is to be completed July 1. The board approved paying $720,432.09. The board chair was approved to sign the contract. The county has been using ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds for this. 

A land use hearing was set for Tuesday, June 10, for Destructible Inc., at 9:15 a.m. 

The board approved the quote for service center water lines. 

Benton County Treasurer Melinda Schoettmer told the board that her office will be closed on July 17, 2025, for a Department of Transportation meeting. 

Abatement of $80 in taxes was approved for #030-15410. This is for the house built by the school. 

The board approved the FY 25 Suspended Tax List. This is done every year to see that the individuals still qualify through the Department of Human Services. 

The board approved a temporary increase in the credit card limit for public health to $7,500 for the purchase of supplies. It will go back to its $2,000 limit on June 15.
