BLAIRSTOWN COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS –May 12, 2025

The regular meeting of the Blairstown City Council was held Monday, May 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Metz, Becker and Dellamuth. Absent: Davidson and Hagen.

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Kubichek.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to approve the agenda as read. All Ayes.

Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Metz to approve the April 14th minutes. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to approve the April Financial Reports. All Ayes.

Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Metz to approve the following submitted and added bills. All Ayes.

Kody Deneve was present to discuss about water, sewer and street to a property he is looking at to build on. He will bring back more information and prices to the next council meeting.

The monthly Library Report was given. Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Metz to approve Diane Niebuhr to the Library Board. All Ayes.

The monthly Ambulance Report was given.

The monthly Fire Report was given. Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Metz to approve Ryan Long as a department member. All Ayes.

The monthly First Responders Report was given.

Motion made by Becker, seconded by Metz to approve Jayne Thompson as a Rec Board member. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to open a public hearing at 7:20. All Ayes.

Discussion was held about the FY 24-25 Budget Amendment.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to close the public hearing at 7:25. All Ayes.

Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Becker to approve Resolution 25-06: Approval of FY24-25 Budget Amendment. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to approve Resolution 25-07: Street Lights. All Ayes.

Motion made by Dellamuth, seconded by Becker to approve the Law Enforcement Contract. All Ayes.

The monthly Maintenance Report was given. Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to approve a bid from Manatt’s for sealcoat. All Ayes. An update was given on the Water Treatment Plant.

Discussion was held about property annexation.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Dellamuth to approve the installation of the south half of the storm sewer, from Iowa Street to Main Street. All Ayes.

No further business, meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
