Belle Plaine had 11 hits. Ellie Hosek was 2 for 5. Taylor Johnson was 2 for 4 with a home run. Denisyn Adams had a double. Belle Plaine stole four bases. With one each were Hosek, Allison Hoover, Claire Neuhaus and Brookelynn Henry. Argo threw for seven innings, allowed seven hits, seven runs (three earned), walked three and struck out one.

Tourney action starts for Class 1A, Region 4, at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 11, at Melcher-Dallas.

Belle Plaine had 13 hits. Wade Sankot was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Ty Alcott was 2 for 4 with a double, triple. Will Sanklot was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Peyton Dostal was 2 for 5 with one RBI. Quentin O’Leary was 3 for 4. Stealing one base each were Will Sankot, Mason Walter and Dostal. Wade Sankot was the winning pitcher, throwing for 5 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, five runs (three earned), walked two, hit one batter and struck out eight. Walter threw for 1 1/3 innings, allowed four hits, four earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Belle Plaine had five hits in the SICL contest. Wade Sankot was 2 for 2. He also stole one base. Belle Plaine had four errors. Losing pitcher Derek Kressley threw for 3 1/3 innings, allowed nine hits, 15 runs (eight earned), walked eight and struck out three. Will Sankot threw allowed no hits, two runs (one earned), walked three and hit one batter.

On Monday, July 7, the Plainsmen (8-10) host Iowa Valley (11-8) again for the Class 1A Substate 4 tournament game, starting at 7 p.m.
