Benton quarterback Carson Nolan was 20 of 25 for passing for 206 yards and one touchdown. Benton rushed for 175 yards. Nolan had 14 carries for 118 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Timmerman had one carry for 11 yards. Evan Martin had one carry for eight yards. Kaden Mitchell had two carries for three yards. Elias Bieschke had seven carries for 35 yards. Timmerman had 10 catches for 91 yards. Eli Patterson had four catches for 53 yards and a 10-yard touchdown catch. Martin had two catches for 21 yards. Elias Bieschke had two catches for 24 yards. Cole Junge had one catch for three yards. Grant Volesky had one catch for 14 yards.

Grant Volesky had eight solo tackles. Eli Patterson added five. With three tackles each were Timmerman, Owen Von Ahsen, Kaden Mitchell, Elias Bieschke and Breckon Rozek.

Sage Edberg recovered one fumble. Drew Ballard one punt for 41 yards.

Cole Junge had one two-point conversion.

Fairfield passed for 92 yards and rushed or 193 yards.

Coach Jeff Zittergruen’s comments: “Our offense was very efficient on Friday and we were able to spread the ball around to quite a few different guys. Defensively, we had a tough time in the first half in getting Fairfield’s running attack off the field. We were able to make some adjustments in the second half and did a better job on that side of the ball. Special teams played at a high level and were important in setting up good field position.

“This week we are hoping for improvement across the board and look forward to seeing how we can compete on Friday night at Mount Vernon.”
