Benton County Conservation Board Meeting
Monday, September 15, 2025 following BCCB/BOS Tour
Benton County Nature Center 5718 20th Ave Drive, Vinton, IA
Board: Dan Hill, Sam Hunter, Mike LaGrange, Randy Scheel, Becky VanWey, Tracy Seeman BoS Liaison
Staff: Shelby Williams, Cam Grubic, Zach Parmater, Cecilia Dirks
Guests: Steve Meyer, Derek Marsh

1. Call to Order – 4:36 PM Van Wey
2. Approve Agenda – LaGrange made motion to approve agenda Scheel seconded all aye,
   motion passed
3. Guests or public participation (kept to a maximum of 3 minutes, the Board will not take any action on public comments at this meeting but may do so in future meetings)
4. Discuss/Action Consent Agenda: Scheel made motion to consent agenda, Hunter seconded all aye, motion passed
   a. Approve minutes from last regular meeting
   b. Approve Conservation and IRM expenditures and revenues
   c. Receive and file activity report
   d. Tabled Items
   i. City of Atkins – Atkins Roundhouse: Lease
5. Business:
   a. Discuss/Action: Other Power-Driven Mobility Device (OPDMD) : Hill made a motion
   to approve LaGrange seconded, all aye motion passed
   b. Discuss/Action Conservation Easement – Resolution 2025-3 : LaGrange made a
   resolution to accept the easement with the appropriate adjustments to be signed at
   a later date after changes are made. Scheel Seconded. Dan Hill, Sam Hunter, Mike
   LaGrange, Randy Scheel, Becky VanWey were all ayes, resolution passed
   c. Discuss Animal Shelter/Cherveny
   d. Discuss/Action Iowa Trails Council Deed Transfer – Hill made a motion to approve the
   deed transfer, Hunter seconded, all aye motion passed
