Benton was 21 of 52 for field goals, 7 of 21 for three-pointers and 16 of 20 for free throws. They had 39 rebounds, 10 assists, six steals, six blocks, and 13 turnovers. Brooks Mitchell-Birdsell had 17 points. Kaleb Hayden added 14. Brody Timmerman had 13 and Jack Lange scored 11. Eli Patterson 18 rebounds and five assists. With two steals each were Lange and Carson Pickering.

Tourney action starts on Monday, Feb. 23, when they travel to Clear Creek Amana (15-7). Action starts at 7 p.m. On Thursday, Feb. 26, the winner plays in the substate semifinal at 7 p.m. against ADM or Clarke in Van Horne. On the other side of the bracket are Nevada, Des Moines Hoover, Mount Vernon and Bondurant-Farrar. The substate final is March 2.
