The Belle Plaine City Council held a work session on March 26, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Belle Plaine City Hall with Mayor Garrett Landuyt presiding. Present: Judy Schlesselman, Charmaine Wickwire, Tim Werth, Jacki Schlesselman, and Mitch Malcolm. Also present: City Clerk Sandy Walton and Public Works Supervisor Jay Hamilton. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Motion by Schlesselman, seconded by Malcolm to approve the Consent Agenda. On roll call vote, all voted Aye, motion carried 5-0.
Engineers from Fehr Graham, the city’s engineering firm, were present to facilitate a work session helping the City develop a Capital Improvement Plan to identify, prioritize, and start to determine financing for major infrastructure projects. Short, medium, and long-term projects were covered. Also discussed were the best water projects to target to utilize the $4 million earmark awarded to the City.
Fehr Graham will take the information that came out of the discussion and develop the CIP plan to be returned to Council for their approval.
Motion by Schlesselman to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Wickwire. On roll call vote, all voted Aye. Motion carried 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
