We have set June 14th at 2:00 pm as our date for commencement! We will conduct the ceremony in the gym with a restructured format to accommodate for social distancing and safety of everyone in attendance. Five (5) guests per graduate will be allowed to attend the ceremony. We have calculated capacity for the gym and will be able to stay below 50% capacity. Detailed information will be sent out at a later time concerning specific commencement procedures.
Please notify us if you and your graduate are planning to attend the graduation ceremony in person on Sunday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. Use this FORM.

If you plan to participate in commencement exercises you will need to attend practice for this event on June 12th at 10 am. In the high school gymnasium. We will continue to monitor and implement guidance received from the Governor, Department of Education, and Benton County Public Health as it becomes available. If new guidance and/or requirements are directed, we will need to adjust our plans accordingly.
Benton Community has always looked forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our Seniors during commencement and this year is no different! While the “Class of 2020” experienced an abrupt ending to their day to day routine in our building, they did not leave our thoughts and we want to conduct a ceremony that provides the recognition and respect that this class deserves!
A directive from the Department of Public Health and the State of Iowa has deemed this event not possible under current conditions of COVID-19 protocols.
Senior Awards Presentation
As much as it saddens us, we are unable to schedule a Senior Awards presentation using a face-to-face format. We have worked closely with the Benton Scholarship Committee and will be releasing a slide-show of awards with award winners for all to enjoy. This slide-show presentation will be deployed to all of our social media outlets.
