COUNCIL: Blairstown, June 8, 2020

BLAIRSTOWN COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS –June 8, 2020

The regular meeting of the Blairstown City Council was held Monday, June 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Members present were Benesh, Metz, Davidson and Stults. Absent: Mokas.

Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Metz to approve the Agenda as read. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Benesh to approve the May 11th minutes. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve the May 18th minutes. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve the May Financial Report. All Ayes.

Motion made by Davdison, seconded by Stults to approve the following submitted and added bills. All Ayes.

The monthly Maintenance Report was given. Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Metz to post for the part time employee position with a due date change. All Ayes.

The monthly Library Report was given.

The monthly Ambulance Report was given. Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve Suzanne Reed to the Ambulance crew. All Ayes. Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve the new fee schedule. All Ayes.

The monthly Fire Report was given.

Motion made by Benesh, seconded by Davidson to approve a building permit for Adam Colbert for a deck. All Ayes.

Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Stults to approve a building permit for Kendra Golden for a deck. All Ayes.

Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Metz to approve a building permit for Cole Limkemann for a shed pending survey. All Ayes.

Discussion was held about dead end signs for Benton/Crow Street.

Discussion was held about the ball park restrooms. Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to authorize the men’s league/rec board to utilize restrooms at their discretion with proper maintenance and disinfection. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to keep the Splashpad closed for 2020. Ayes: Metz, Davidson and Benesh. Nay: Stults.

Discussion was held about Child Labor Laws.

Discussion was held about a possible location for community gardens.

Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Metz to approve Resolution 20-06: Water Rates. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve Resolution 20-07: Garbage Rates. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to approve a tobacco permit for the Blairstown Quick Stop. All Ayes.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to have Stults replace Bossom on the Mayors committees. All Ayes.

The regular meeting was adjourned at 8:10

Public hearing was opened at 8:11.

No public comment was made.

Motion made by Metz, seconded by Davidson to close the public hearing at 8:15. All Ayes.

Motion made by Davidson, seconded by Benesh to reopen the regular meeting at 8:15. All Ayes.

Motion made by Davidson ,seconded by Benesh to approve Resolution 20-08: Budget Amendment. All Ayes.

No further business, motion made by Davidson, seconded by Metz to adjourn, meeting adjourned at 8:16p.m.
