5:30 P.M. – WORK SESSION OPEN

- LEGAT (Team Members Robin Randall, Jeff Sandberg, Mark Siwik, Latheryn Duytschaever)
Discussion and presentation of proposal for district facilities study and master planning process. LEGAT Team presented a collaborative design process to the school board focusing on information gathering steps, visioning efforts to consolidate data, define and prioritize data, consider options for infrastructure improvement, and transforming data into a platform of consensus on priorities for infrastructure improvements. Pamphlets provided for board record. - OPN (Team Members Roger Worm, Vicki Hyland, Carly Weber, Dewight Schumm) Discussion and presentation of proposal for district facilities study and master planning process. OPN Team presented a communication planning process, research and assessment phase, design concept, and engagement process for infrastructure improvements. Pamphlets provided for board record.
- SCHOOL BALL FIELDS (Atkins, Keystone, and Norway)
Discussion focused on the impacts of COVID 19 on spring and summer scheduling and use of the ball fields. Board discussed consideration of formalizing a 28 E with each community for future use of these facilities. Historical perspective of relationship with community recreation committees was offered in topic and question. District will continue to monitor the use of ball fields. It was suggested that signage be posted focusing on Iowa school district property requirements and rules, prohibited items, school identity for property, and authorized usage notice. - MEDIA
Discussion and information shared on ESPN conducting an interview with Eric Stenberg, Head Softball Coach for print article to be published in coming week. ESPN may consider coming to Benton CSD and filming a segment on COVID 19 and sports.
