Benton Community (11-24) swept Washington (4-20) Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the first round of Class 4A volleyball tournament action in Van Horne, 3-0.
The team was 24 of 86 in serves with 13 errors. Grace Embretson had nine and Addison Phillips added seven. Embretson had 10 assists. Kiah Coffin had seven. The team had 20 service aces, with only three errors in 74 attempts. Embretson had nine aces. Phillips had four. With three each were Emma Townsley and Caitlin Keiper. Townsley had seven digs.

Western Dubuque will host Dubuque Wahlert (7-17) on Tuesday, Oct. 27 for the Region 7 championship in Class 4A.
