The Belle Plaine Plainsmen (3-4) picked up a non-conference win on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at home, defeating Don Bosco, 64-60.

Ben DeMeulenaere led Belle Plaine with 25 points and 12 rebounds. With three assists each were Jaxon Kressley and Jackson Tegeler. With three steals each sere Kressley, Tegeler and Eli Ehlen. The team was 24 of 56 for field goals, 5 of 16 for three-pointers and 11 of 19 for free throws. The team had 39 rebounds and 22 turnovers.

Belle Plaine earned a SICL win over Tri-County on Tuesday, Dec. 15, in boys’ basketball action.

The team was 29 of 50 for field goals, 1 of 9 for three-pointers and 6 of 20 for free throws. Belle Plaine had 39 rebounds and 11 turnovers. Ben DeMeulenaere led Belle Plaine with 30 points and 15 rebounds. Jaxon Kressley had seven assists. DeMeulenaere also had three blocks.

Tri-County was 12 of 46 from the field, 4 of 18 for three-pointers and 9 of 13 for free throws. The team had 21 rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Strong defense helped Belle Plaine’s boys’ basketball team (5-4) to a 36-23 win over BGM (1-6) in SICL boys’ basketball action, Friday, Dec. 18, at Belle Plaine.

The team was 15 of 48 for field goals, 4 of 21 for three-pointers and 2 of 7 for free throws. Belle Plaine had 40 rebounds and 15 turnovers. Jackson Tegeler had 10 points for Belle Plaine. Ben DeMeulenaere had 13 rebounds. Jaxon Kressley had three assists and four steals. DeMeulenaere also had five blocks.

Belle Plaine travels to HLV on Tuesday, Dec. 22, to close the 2020 portion of their season.

Bree Shaull had 15 points for Belle Plaine, with 5 of 14 shooting for three-pointers. Adding 14 each sere Olivia Bohlen and Alyssa Tegeler. With eight rebounds each were Jenna Fry and Tegeler. With three assists each were Bohlen and Shaull. Jacy Gates had four steals. With two blocks each were Gates and Bohlen. The team was 21 of 70 for field goals, 7 of 22 for three-pointers and 5 of 8 from the line. The team had 39 rebounds and 13 turnovers.

Belle Plaine’s girls’ basketball team traveled to Tri-County on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and came home with a big win, 41-19, in SICL action.

Jacy Gates led Belle Plaine with 10 points. Alyssa Tegeler had 16 rebounds and two assists. Jacey Reineke had six steals. Tegeler added four steals. Mandy Chizek blocked three shots. The team was 17 of 58 from the field, 2 of 12 for three-pointers and 5 of 9 for free throws. They had 41 rebounds and 10 turnovers. Tri-County was 7 of 42 for field goals, 2 of 16 for three-pointes and 3 of 4 for free throws. The team had 21 rebounds and 28 turnovers.

Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at Belle Plaine

Belle Plaine’s girls’ basketball team (5-2) cruised to a 64-37 win over BGM (0-9) on Friday, Dec. 18, in Belle Plaine.

Alyssa Tegeler scored 22 for Belle Plaine. Jenna Fry added 12. Tegeler also had 12 rebounds. Olivia Bohlen had six assists and four steals. Bohlen also blocked three shots. The team was 28 of 70 for field goals, 5 of 22 for three-pointers and 3 of 4 for free throws. The team had 43 rebounds and 23 turnovers.

Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Belle Plaine
