Belle Plaine’s girls basketball team traveled to 14-3 Sigourney on Friday, Jan. 29, and lost in SICL girls’ basketball action, 51-45.

Olivia Bohlen led Belle Plaine with 22 points. She also had seven rebounds, three assists and four steals. The team was 17 of 49 from the field, 3 of 5 for three-pointers and 8 of 14 for free throws. They had 23 rebounds, eight steals and 14 turnovers.

Belle Plaine’s girls’ basketball team defeated Tri-County (1-18) in SICL action Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Belle Plaine, 54-27.

They close the regular season on Monday, Feb. 8, hosting English Valleys (9-8).

Ben DeMeulenaere had 19 points. Jackson Tegeler added 13 and Eli Ehlen had 10 points. DeMeulenaere had 10 rebounds. Ehlen added seven. Jaxson Kressley had four assists. With four steals each were Jared Ward and Ehlen. The team was 23 of 48 for field goals, 4 of 15 for three-pointers and 14-of-25 for free throws. The team had 29 rebounds and 14 turnovers.

Belle Plaine used a strong start to roll by Tri-County (0-18) in SICL boys’ basketball action, Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Belle Plaine.

Ben DeMeulenaere scored 19 for Belle Plaine. Jackson Tegeler added 12. DeMeulenaere also had 11 rebounds. Jaxson Kressley had five assists. Eli Ehlen had four steals. The team was 24 of 54 for field goals, 3 of 17 for three-pointers and 14 of 27 for free throws. The team had 38 rebounds, 14 steals and 13 turnovers.

The boys’ play at English Valleys (12-6) on Monday, Feb. 8, to close out the regular season.
