Belle Plaine’s girls’ basketball team (15-8) closed its season in the second round of the 1A tournament, losing to No. 12 Collins-Maxwell (21-1), 73-27.

Game statistics are coming.

CM’s Christie Brooke had 21 points. With 17 each were Erica Houge and Reagan Franzen. CM was 27 of 48 for field goals, 10 of 23 for three-pointers and 9 of 13 for free throws. The team had 29 rebounds, 12 steals and 13 turnovers.

Collins-Maxwell travels to No. 15 Baxter (20-2) on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, at 7 p.m. On the other side of the bracket are No. 6 Montezuma (20-1) and North Mahaska (15-3). The regional final is Wednesday, Feb. 24, at a site to be determined.
