Benton volleyball

Benton participated in the Cedar Rapids Prairie Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 2. They defeated Mediapolis (9-11) and lost to Clear Creek Amana (17-7). They then lost to host Cedar Rapids Prairie (12-10). They closed with the defeat of Muscatine (10-10), and Cedar Rapids Washington (3-20).

Grace Embretsen had 17 assists against Mediapolis. The team was 26 of 68 for kills with 13 errors. Alyssa Tegeler had 10 kills. Emma Townsley had three digs. Benton was 39 of 42 for serves with nine aces. Tegeler had three aces.

Embretsen had eight assists. The team was was 10 of 51 for kills with 15 errors. With 16 kills was Piper Nelson. Adding 11 each were Tegeler and Embretsen. Embretsen had three digs. Benton was 17 of 18 for serves with one ace from Embretsen.

Embretsen had 17 assists. Benton was 24 of 70 for kills with 14 errors. Tegeler had had 10 kills. Embretsen had eight digs. Benton was 45 of 51 for serves with four aces. Addison Phillips had two aces.

Embretsen had 10 assists. Benton was 18 of 53 for kills with nine errors. Embretsen had five kills. Nelson had four digs. The team was 31 of 34 for serves with two aces from Tegeler.

Embretsen had 12 assists for the Lady Bobcats. The team was 21 of 49 for kills with four errors. Tegeler had seven kills. Townsley had seven digs. They were 39 of 41 for serves with 10 aces, led by Addison Phillips with six.

Benton (15-9) travels to Center Point-Urbana (4-23) on Tuesday, Oct. 5, then hosts Independence (17-6) on Thursday, Oct. 7. They travel to the Center Point-Urbana tournament on Saturday, Oct. 9, opening with Assumption (22-3).
