Jacy Gates had 16 points for Belle Plaine. Olivia Bohlen had 12 and Bree Shaull added 11. Mandy Chizek had 12 rebounds. Shaull had five steals. Bohlen had 10 assists. Bohlen also blocked three shots. Iowa Valley was led by Lydia Kriegel with 14 points

Tourney time

Belle Plaine hosts Don Bosco (3-16) on Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m. The winner travels to Baxter High School to face the winner of the Baxter (18-0) vs. Colo-Nesco (4-15) game on Tuesday, Feb. 15. The winner then plays at Baxter on Friday, Feb. 18. The regional final is Wednesday, Feb. 23, at a site to be determined. On the other side of the bracket are Meskwaki Settlement (15-4), GMG (6-10), Dunkerton (8-11), and Waterloo Christian (11-6).
