VINTON – Land use and fireworks were topics for the Benton County Board of Supervisors at their meeting, Tuesday, March 22, at the courthouse in Vinton.
Fireworks permits were approved for Chuck Yedlik. He is planning three events in April, May and October. There was discussion on what time of day the fireworks are used.
A land use hearing was set for Richard and Marcia Mario, for land in Section 27, Harrison Township. It is Tuesday, April 19, at 9:15 a.m.
They approved the final plat of Sunset Estates Addition to Benton County. Land Use Administrator Marc Greenlee explained the changes in the final plat from the preliminary plat. These regarded well locations and easements. Any changes to this would have to go through the board of supervisors. He said everything in the final plat is in order. This is a re-plat of Hidden Meadows Third Addition to Benton County.
The board discussed 2019 taxes on 240-90425. The board approved waiving 2019 taxes, but having them pay for 2020.
The board acknowledged the successful post-election audits from the special school board and special city election.
Russ Glime was approved as Benton Township Trustee.
A memorandum of understanding was approved regarding reimbursement from the MH/DS East Central Region for county employees.
Chairman Tracy Seeman gave an update on the landfill and land for future cells.
