BENTON COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE 2022: BACK TO NORMAL!

Cancer hasn’t stopped, and neither has the American Cancer Society in Benton County. Cancer did not take a break during the pandemic. The American Cancer Society needs our help more than ever to continue lifesaving cancer research and programs. Help us keep fighting because an estimated 125 people will be diagnosed with cancer in Benton County this year!

Please join us for the 2022 Relay For Life of Benton County — back to normal and in person –on Sunday, June 5th at the Benton Community High School track from 6:00 PM through 10:00 PM.

1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Cancer will likely touch each of us at some point. But every time you participate in Relay For Life, you are helping create a world without cancer by supporting education, awareness, prevention, research, and advocacy.

So, whether you choose to walk at or in-person event or still fundraise at home, do it to remember those we’ve lost, to honor the brave survivors of all cancers, and to raise funds for a cancer-free future. Iowa Relay For Life events have helped fund the following:

** 16,700+ nights of lodging provided to more than 900 cancer patients and caregivers in Iowa. Our Hope Lodge communities and Hotel Partners program help ease the financial burden when travel for cancer care becomes necessary.

** 3,4000+ rides to treatment provided by volunteer drivers to cancer patients in Iowa at no cost. Our Road To Recovery program helps remove one of the biggest roadblocks for patients—safe, reliable transportation to cancer-related appointments.

** $2 million currently invested in 6 cancer research grants in Iowa (as of January, 2020). The American Cancer Society funds innovative cancer research to find the causes of and better treatments for cancer and to improve the lives of cancer patients.

** 2,000+ Iowa adults enrolled in our groundbreaking Cancer Prevention Study-3. Findings from Cancer Prevention Study-1 and 2 have provided invaluable insights into the causes of cancer and how to prevent it, such as confirming smoking is linked to lung cancer and obesity is linked to multiple cancers.

So please join us for the Benton County Relay For Life on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at the Benton Community High School track in Van Horne from 6:00 PM through 10:00 PM. Sunday, June 5th is National Cancer Survivors’ Day, so it is the perfect day and reason to get back to normal and join with family and friends at this year’s Benton County Relay For Life!
