Lady Bobcats open new season against Assumption and West Delaware

Benton had three hits at Davenport Assumption. Ana Glawe was 1 for 3. Gabby McKee was 1 for 3. Hannah Greiner was 1 for 3 with a double. Jesse DeMoss had two RBIs. The team had four errors. Jesse DeMoss threw for six innings, allowed 11 hits, eight runs, five earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Benton had four hits. McKee was 1 for 2 with a double. Greiner was 1 for 1. DeMoss was 1 for 2. Lexie Pippert was 1 for 1 with one RBI. The team had two errors. Greiner allowed seven hits, six runs, three earned runs and walked no one. Hope Moore took the loss, allowing seven hits, eight earned runs, walked two and hit one batter.

Hope Moore was 1 for 2 with one RBI. The team had two errors. DeMoss was the winning pitcher, allowing two hits, three runs, two earned runs, walking three and striking out seven.

Sarah Gorkow had one RBI. DeMoss was 1 for 2 with a double and one RBI. Brooke DeRycke was 1 for 1. Hope Moore was 1 for 2 with two RBIs  The team had two errors. Hope Moore was the winning pitcher, throwing four innings, allowing two hits, one run, no earned runs, walking one and striking out one. Greiner threw for one inning and allowed no runs. She struck out two.

The Lady Bobcats had nine hits against Cedar Rapids Washington. Emma Townsley was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Jaida Lyons was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs. Jessa DeMoss was 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Hope Moore was 1 for 2. The team had two errors. Winning pitcher Hannah Greiner threw for three innings, allowed two hits, one run, no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Benton blanked Burlington in the second game at Jefferson, 9-0. The had 10 hits. Emma Townsley was 2 for 3. Lyons was 1 for 3 with two RBIs. Sarah Gorkow was 1 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs. DeMoss was 3 for 3 with two home runs and three RBIs. Madysn Schulze was 2 for 2 with one RBI. Hope Moore was 1 for 1 with two RBIs. The team had three errors. On the mound, DeMoss threw for five innings, allowed three hits, no runs, walked no one and struck out six.

This week, Benton plays two at Solon on Tuesday, May 31. They travel to Xavier on Saturday, June 4, and play at 2:30 p.m.
