Benton had seven hits at Clear Creek Amana. Emma Townsley was 1 for 4. Hope Moore was 1 for 4. Gabby McKee was 1 for 4 with a double and one RBI. Jessa DeMoss was 1 for 3 with one RBI. The team had three errors. DeMoss threw for 6 1/3 innings, allowed three hits, four runs (one earned), walked three and struck out five.

Benton had six hits in the second game. Townsley was 1 for 3. Anna Glawe was 2 for 3. McKee was 1 for 3. Sarah Gorkow was 1 for 2. DeMoss was 1 for 3 with a double. Benton had no errors. Hope Moore took the loss, throwing 3 2/3 innings, allowing five hits, nine runs (one earned), walking four, hitting one batter and striking out two. Hannah Greiner allowed no hits, walked one and struck out two.

Benton was held to two hits in the first game against Marion. McKee and DeMoss had one single each. The team had two errors. Greiner threw for two innings and allowed on hit. DeMoss took the loss, throwing for five innings, allowing eight hits, six runs (five earned), walking three and striking out six.

Benton had 10 hits in the second contest. Townsley was 1 for 4. Greiner was 1 for 3. Glawe was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. McKee was 1 for 2 with one RBI. DeMoss was 1 for 3 with a double and one RBI. Lexie Pippert was 1 for 3. Hope Moore was 3 for 3 with a triple. The team had one error. DeMoss threw for 2 1/3 innings, allowed two hits, one earned run, walked two and struck out two. Hope Moore was the losing pitcher, threw 4 2/3 innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (four earned), and striking out six. 

Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Waverly

Benton had 11 hits in the non-conference win over Waverly-Shell Rock. Greiner was 1 for 3. Glawe was 3 for 3 with a home run and seven RBIs. McKee was 2 for 2 with a home run and two RBIs. DeMoss was 1 for 2 with one RBI. Gorkow was 1 for 2. Jaida Lyons was 1 for 2. Townsley was 1 for 2 with one RBI. The team had no errors. Greiner threw for three innings, allowed no hits or runs and struck out three.

Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Muscatine

Benton won in five innings against Durant at the Muscatine tournament Saturday, June 11. Benton had 12 hits. Hope Moore was 2 for 4. Hannah Greiner was 1 for 4 with one RBI. Ana Glawe was 1 for 2 with a double and one RBI. Gabby McKee was 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs. Jaida Lyons was 1 for 3. Emma Townsley was 3 for 3. Benton had one error. Greiner threw for four innings, allowed two hits, no runs and walked five. Hope Moore threw for one inning, allowed no hits and struck out three.

Benton (7-7) plays at Vinton-Shellsburg (7-9) Monday, June 13, for a doubleheader. They host Maquoketa (9-7) Wednesday, June 15. They host Center Point-Urbana (7-7) on Thursday, June 16. They travel to Roland-Story on Friday, June 17, and face Perry (5-5) and Estherville Lincoln Central (14-3). On Saturday, June 18, they face host Roland-Story (6-5) at 11 a.m.
