Benton picked up two WaMaC wins at Independence on Monday, June 20. In the first game Benton had 20 hits. Hope Moore was 2 for 5 with one RBI. Hannah Greiner was 2 for 2 with one RBI. Ana Glawe was 1 for 2 with a double and one RBI. McKee was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. Jessa DeMoss was 4 for 4 with three doubles and four RBIs. Gorkow was 1 for 4 with one RBI. Jaida Lyons was 3 for 4 with one RBI. Lexie Pippert was 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Emma Townsley was 3 for 4. The team had one error. Winning pitcher DeMoss threw for five innings, allowed four hits, three runs (two earned), walked five and struck out four.

Benton held on for an 8-7 win in the second game. The team had 11 hits. Hope Moore was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Greiner was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. DeMoss was 2 for 4 with one RBI. The Lady Bobcats (20-10) host Williamsburg (21-10) in a WaMaC showdown on Monday, June 27, with the first game starting at 5:30 p.m. WaMaC action continues on Wednesday, June 29, at Beckman (6-18). The first game is 5:30 p.m. On Thursday, June 20, 2022, Benton hosts Mount Vernon (26-3), with the first game at 5:30 p.m. One Friday, July 1, 2022, they play North Scott (20-6) at Iowa City West. The game starts at 2:45 p.m. Benton then plays again in the Rick Doran Softball Classic, facing Iowa City West (8-19) at 6:15 p.m. Class 4A Region 6 action starts Saturday, July 9, at Van Horne, when Benton hosts either Waterloo East (9-23) or Charles City (13-6). The game starts at 7 p.m.
