
VINTON – The Benton County Board of Supervisors had a short agenda for their Tuesday, June 28, meeting at the service center in Vinton. It was the last meeting for the fiscal year.
The board approved resolutions on 2023 departmental appropriations, 2023 bank depositories and 2023 officials’ bank depository amounts.
Hand writes were approved for mental health fund balance close-out and for the parking lot at the service center.
A class C liquor was approved for Tipsy Travelers LLC. It is for a wedding reception at Kacena’s Farms, Vinton.
Sealed bids were opened for replacement of a steam boiler at the courthouse. There was one bid. All Temp Refrigeration had the bid in the amount of $159,485.
Kevin Atkinson was at the meeting about lowering the speed limit on 61st Street Lane, near Oak Grove Church. He said traffic on his gravel road has more than doubled. He and his neighbors were requesting going down to 35 miles per hour for a part of the road. The board said the county engineer would work on a resolution for this. It should be on the agenda for the July 5 meeting.
