Quarterback Aidan Gallery was 11 of 19 in passing for 113 yards. He had one interception. Benton rushed for 190 yards. Junior Carson Bruns had 25 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns, the longest touchdown run being 18 yards. Sam Wallace had three carries for 15 yards. Gallery had 14 carries for 27 yards. Wallace had four catches for 23 yards. Junior Jace Biery had one catch for 10 yards. Junior Easton Pfiffner had three catches for 51 yards. Will Shaw had three catches for 29 yards. Bruns had 7.5 total tackles With five total tackles each were Wallace and Brenden Heying. Wallace had one interception with a 30-yard return. Ty Kulbartz had one kickoff return. Pfiffner had two returns for 27 yards. Will Shaw had one punt return for two yards. Nathan Rottman had four kickoffs for 174 yards. He was 2 for 2 for points after touchdown. Pfiffner had two punts for 65 yards.

Independence had 150 yards passing and 165 yards rushing.

Coach Jeff Zittergruen’s comments: “This team was a great group because of their buy-in and the hard work they put in to achieve their goals. They battled at Independence in the first round of the 3A state playoffs and just fell short at the end of the game to another good football team. This group can look back and be proud of the season they accomplished.

“For this senior group, they have added their legacy to the Bobcat Football tradition. They qualified for consecutive playoff appearances and were a part of a district championship. They are a great group of kids who have done things the right way.”
