Routine business again for Benton County Board of Supervisors

VINTON – It was again a routine meeting for the Benton County Board of Supervisors when they met Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, at the Service Center Conference Room in Vinton.

A land use hearing was set for Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 9:15 a.m. for Dan Wirtanen, for land in Parcel A, Section 15, Fremont Township.

A resolution was approved for the sheriff’s department, moving Zach Fiser and Brian Sondag from part-time to full-time.

Vacation carryover was approved for Marc Greenlee, land use administrator and sanitarian. This is for 10 days.

The board approved a dissemination agreement with D.A. Davidson.

Supervisor Richard Primmer was not at the meeting, but participated in a Zoom call.

The board approved a Class B Liquor License for McBride Mobile Taps LLC.

Cara Martin of Veterans Affairs presented quarterly reports to the supervisors.

In reports, Board Chairman Tracy Seeman gave an update on the landfill, focusing on a new dumpster at the site.

Engineer

The board approved a Temporary Construction Closure on 55th Street in Cedar Township for bridge replacement. This is north of Vinton and south of Mount Auburn.

Engineer Myron Parizek also was approved to attend the National Association of County Engineers (NACE) conference in Alabama in April.

The board discussed with Parizek intersection lighting on Highway 30, at the Van Horne corner and intersection with Highway 218.
