Van Horne Newsletter – January 2023

We’re all a little winter-hardened after our pre-Christmas blizzard. One thing that popped up was a few residents needing the City to shut off their water when a pipe burst in their home. This is a good time for a reminder to make sure you know where the water shut-off is inside your home, to minimize damage to your house. Also, please do your best to remove vehicles from the streets after a snowfall so the plows can clear things quickly and properly.

The tree removal process has begun, so be sure to show the crew the usual Van Horne hospitality as they spend the next 4-5 weeks in town. If you’d like to inquire about the removal of anything on your property, you can contact Hennick’s Tree Service at (319) 241-5005.

Some opportunities to get out and see your neighbors this month:

You’ll see more upcoming events on the new electronic sign outside the Community Center as installation should be happening soon.
