We are excited to announce administrative and staff assignments for the  2023-2024 school year.  The transitions come after much thought regarding our district’s vision for student learning, continuous improvement of teaching and learning, and support for our staff and students.  

Mrs. Anna Selk – Associate Superintendent 

It is with great pleasure to announce that Mrs. Anna Selk has been appointed to the position of Associate Superintendent for the 2023-2024 school year, beginning on July 1, 2023. In this role, she will serve as Curriculum Director and provide oversight of teaching and learning services within the district.

Mrs. Selk has been with the district for over 10 years with a wealth of experience in education and a proven track record of success. She has spent many years serving in leadership positions and has demonstrated a deep commitment to student success and excellence in education.

Her expertise in curriculum development and instructional leadership will be invaluable to our district as we continue to strive for academic excellence and prepare our students for success in their future endeavors. Mrs. Selk’s passion for education and dedication to student achievement make her an ideal fit for this position.

Mr. Shawn Pfiffner  – Activities Director/Assistant MS/HS Principal

Mr. Pfiffner will transfer to the MS/HS Activities Director/Assistant Principal position where he served prior to being the Keystone Elementary Principal. Our staff at Keystone Elementary will be our focus during the upcoming weeks and months as we collaborate together to select the next leader. We look forward to this journey and we value and appreciate their willingness and resiliency as we move forward. While this change is bittersweet, and Mr. Pfiffner’s impact on the staff and students will be greatly missed, we have no doubt that our staff at Keystone will continue to demonstrate their pride as Bobcats and set their sights on the upcoming vision for the students and staff.  The position of Principal for Keystone Elementary will be posted immediately.  

Melody Spence – School Business Official/Board Secretary & Treasurer

With continued responsibilities related to human resources, Director of the Central Office, and activities accounting, Mrs. Spence will take on the role of School Business Official (SBO) and Board Secretary & Treasurer. She has been with Benton since January 2013. Mrs. Spence has a wealth of knowledge and previous work experiences in human resources and accounting. 

Kent Meyer – District Buildings and Grounds Director

This position appointment will enable Mr. Meyer to coordinate district resources and manage facilities in an effective and efficient manner to support all aspects of programming. Mr. Meyer has served the district for the past 20 years in various capacities to include building maintenance and district buildings and grounds maintenance.

The success of our school district comes from the collective strength and belief in each other. The transitions and assignments for these staff members will strengthen our school district and provide continued support and direction for everyone.
